Free County

The basic idea of the Free State Project was to concentrate the population of libertarians and other freedom lovers in one state so that we could have an effect on politics despite being a political minority nationally. It was a great idea and still is. However, it takes a long time to get significant numbers to make the move which means freedom will be a long time in coming.

The Free County concept reduces the scope to a single county in Montana. This way, only a few thousand freedom lovers could have significant impact, thus allowing us to live in freedom much sooner. The Free Town idea extends this concept even further so that it would only take a few hundred of us.

The Free State, Free County, and Free Town concepts all work together very well. The next logical progression from a free town is a free county. Then more counties and towns can follow as we grow and our ideas are proved beneficial. At some point we will then be able to have significant influence at the state level.
